The Conference Center is primarily used for the large meetings the LDS Church hold regularly. The facility consists of an assembly hall that seats approximately 20,000 people, smaller meeting rooms and a theater. The building is clad with granite from the same quarry that the granite cladding used on the Salt Lake City Temple which is located across the street. Cubic stone is extensively used for the columns, soffits, window surrounds and landscaping. The stone is supported in a variety of ways depending on its location and thickness.
