Tom is an experienced detailer, producing shop drawings for windows, curtain walls and stone veneers for 35 years. Tom’s facade experience includes both handset and panelized stone veneer systems, detailing of support systems for stone including stud or strut framed systems, light steel and tube steel systems and attaching stone to provided substrates of concrete or masonry walls. His experience with windows and curtain walls includes standard and custom systems, punched windows, stick system curtain walls and unitized walls. He spent many years “on the board” before learning AutoCAD in the early 90’s. He also says he is “pretty good” with Autodesk Inventor. The years of detailing, working with the engineers, the masons and glazers, the manufacturers and the construction management team provided an education that is not found in schools. His emphasis is on the details, how things fit together, how easy they are to assemble and install and how well they respond to the stresses of nature and daily wear and tear. Tom received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and has maintained an interest in building design and aesthetics. His goals match that of The Facade Group in respecting and working to protect the Architect’s vision for the building.
