Rob is a Principal of The Facade Group and leads the direction of the firm. His experience includes work across the United States and in China and Hong Kong. He led the facade consulting group as a specialty consulting service of a large engineering firm for nine years prior to forming The Facade Group in January 2000. Rob uses his passion for facades and architecture to assist architects in achieving their desired expression while using his knowledge to ensure a fully functional enclosure. His education includes a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Oregon. Rob has years of experience as a contractor and architect, which he brings to his consulting service. He has a depth of experience in stone and curtain wall systems with a focus on design. Rob’s project experience is diverse, ranging from commercial towers, including the Washington Mutual Tower in Seattle and the Plaza 66 in Shanghai to public buildings, including the Mark Hatfield Courthouse and Seattle Art Museum, and also residential buildings including the EVO Condominiums in Los Angeles. Rob is active in the building industry, he is the founding chairman of the Portland BEC (Building Enclosure Council), and is a member of BETEC (Building Enclosure Technology and Environmental Council) and the AIA (American Institute of Architects).
