Project:     The Melbourne Museum’s Great South Wall is over 600ft long and 40ft high. The support structure is independent of the roof structure with the top panes of glass cantilevering upward to provide a clear demarcation between roof and wall. The point fixed glass is supported by cast stainless steel spiders. At the main entrance buttress columns cantilever from ground level. Tension rod structures in the main entrance area provide support to the intermediate mullions and visual separation of the glass from the structure. The project also features a wide variety of glass fin glazing systems and metal panel cladding.

Responsibility:     Design, engineering and site inspection of glazing systems, tension structure and cladding systems were provided for this job.
