| Project: |
The Main Terminal Building is the focal point for the New Bangkok International Airport. The envelope features sculptural roof trusses spanning 600ft floating above a glass skin wall. The glass wall is 10 stories high and 3/4miles in perimeter with the glass floating off tension trusses. The design utilizes precision cast stainless steel assemblies and stainless steel cables in the horizontal trusses. The vertical truss systems utilize high-strength galvanized strand to form bow trusses. Extensive research went into the development glass technology for point fixing of laminated heat-strengthened glass.
